Does the Steam generator have an on button or light?
No just plug the steam generator in and it will automatically start after a few minutes you will hear a noise and it will be boiling by 10 minutes.
Does the steam generator turn itself off?
Yes, the steam generator has a continuous run time of 70 minutes and when the water gets to the same level as the element it will automatically cut out. You do need to turn off the power as soon as its finished as it automatically turns on every 10 mins.
How much water does the Steam Generator hold?
4l of water.
Is there a maximum line?
Yes, it’s on the left-hand side of the steam generator. If you are having difficulty finding the level we recommend buying a basic plastic 2L jug and using that filled twice to fill it up. The jug is also handy for when you want to descale.
Can you fill the steam generator faster?
Yes, when the steam generator is cool you can lift the black pressure release at the back while you’re filling and the water goes in faster. Handy tip is to always make sure that the pressure release valve at the top on the back of your hay steamer is clear of any hay or other dust and dirt. This is essential to ensure that the pressure valve is working as it should, always do this when the steam generator is unplugged and cold.
Can I leave the hose attached?
The hose has a plastic connector and is easy to accidentally damage so we recommend removing it while emptying and moving around. Replacements are available on the website.
My hay isn’t wet all the way through is it not steamed?
Steamed hay is not wet hay so the high temperature treatment is killing mould and bacteria but the aim isn’t to have the hay wet all the way through that’s just a by product of the condensation within the box .
How do I clean my hay steamer box?
All you need to do is give the box a rinse out with the hose to get rid of the excess hay. If you want to give it a deep clean use an adjustable spanner to take off the outer silver connector and remove the grid system to give it all a good clean out
