Simply Steam Troubleshooting information.                                  

Q) My steam generator gets to temperature and then stops boiling.

A) The Steam generator needs to be descaled, if the steam generator isn’t turning on at all then leave the descaling solution to soak overnight then try to turn on in the morning.

Even if you have been regularly descaling this might not have removed all the limescale so leave to soak overnight.

Q) My Steam generator isn’t turning on.

A) Has it been descaled? If you in an EU country then did the you buy a heavy-duty adapter plug when you purchased the item? Try a new electrical timer plug first.

Is the steam generator tripping the electrics when plugged in? if so the electrical element has failed and you will need a replacement. If the steam generator is under 6 months old send us an email to sales@simplysteam.co.uk to return for a replacement. If not then the replacement part is available to buy on our website. Please note that element failures due to limescale aren’t covered under warranty.

Q) Why is the water inside my steam generator has gone brown and discoloured? 

A Either the hose is blocked or frozen or the black box has too much water in the bottom and this is causing the water to come back inside the Steam Generator. If this happens unplug immediately and empty the water out and check where the issue has started. Please allow too cool and refill before you turn it back on again.

Q) Why does my steam generator have steam escaping? 

A) The hose could be blocked or frozen or the bottom of the box. Detach the steam generator from all attachments and see if it does the same thing if not the problem is in the box or the hose so attach the hose and steam without it attached to the box. If the problem isn’t in the box or hose please check the black pressure release valve on the back steam generator isn’t dirty or blocked.

Q) Why is the black plastic box leaking?

A) Is this the first time you have used the item? If so then it must have been damaged in transit please report this the day of delivery. if you have been using the box for a while and it develops a crack this is usually always damage caused, they are a plastic moulded unit and can not just crack without being dropped or knocked over please send pictures to sales@simplysteam.co.uk and we can ask the manufacturer to inspect and organise a warranty or paid replacement.

Q) The plastic end has broken that attaches to the box.

A) This is usually always accidental damage and has beeb knocked on the floor when emptying the water out or kicked or tripped up over. You will need a replacement hose which is available to buy on the website or send a picture to sales@simplysteam.co.uk

Q) Why is the black box making a noise while its turned on?

A) There is too much water in the bottom of the box turn off immediately and leave to cool then tip out the water and drain the system then start again.
