Bringing your hay steamer back into work
A vast majority of our customers use the Simply Steam all year round but we do also have plenty of customers who have a break over summer while horses are in their stables a bit less.
The way you put your steamer away is vital to ensuring it’ll be happy when it comes to using it again. You want to make sure the steam generator has been freshly descaled and then fully drained of water – this includes the hose, make sure this is also left empty of water and dry. You should also give the box itself a good scrub inside and out and then leave it to fully dry. Store the Steam Generator and hose inside the box and leave it all somewhere out the way, away from direct sunlight, fluctuating temperatures or dampness, ideally indoors.
When you get the Simply Steam back out you want to initially leave the Steam Generator to soak overnight in Propress descaler – before turning the steam generator on, mix the descaler and boiling water together and pour it in and leave it all night, the following day fully empty it and give it a good rinse. Usually it will start to warm straight away when you turn it back on, but sometimes it can take a bit of time to kick on so leave it plugged in for up to 30 minutes and it should be good to go.
Before you use it properly, check your hose for any damage and run some water through to make sure there are no blockages. If you didn’t do it before putting it away then now is the time to undo the outer silver connector using an adjustable spanner and take out the grid system and give it a good clean and rinse though with the hose to ensure all the holes and free of any build up. Set everything back up and you’re ready to start steaming.
